To the north of the island of Minorca we think wonderful and protégée Bahía de Fornells, that with its 3 km of slightly deep waters it is the ideal place for the lovers of the surfing and of sports of sail.
The fortitude of Sant Antoni constructed in the XVIIth century as bastion against the pirates, is the origin of the fishermen’s idyllic people of Fornells.
Its fishermen’s charismatic port and its famous cauldron of lobster have done of this population an important center of tourist attraction.
In the entry of the bay, on the Fornells end, there are the English ruins of the defensive Tower of Fornells (1802). From here it is possible to enjoy a beautiful panorama on the open sea and on the scarce cliffs in vegetation up to the End of Knighthood. To the west of Fornells are the beaches of Cala Tirant, Cala Little and Binimel.lá.
